In 1965, Alan Stillman founded the first TGI Fridays restaurant in New York, with the secret idea of attracting stewardesses in a neighboring hotel with fantastic cocktails. He hired handsome bartenders to entertain the ladies who were returning home or leaving the road all night. The recipe worked.
